Women of Fragrance
A Continuing Journey
Last year, I created a floral collection inspired by a different biblical theme each month. Through flowers, colour, and symbolism, I explored God’s character, His promises, and the lessons He continues to teach me.
This year, I felt called to continue that journey in a new way.
While the monthly themes remain the same, I have begun painting figures of women who represent specific women from the Bible. Each of their stories beautifully reflects the heart of that month’s theme and serves as a reminder of God’s love, faithfulness, courage, healing, and redemption throughout generations.
So far, I have completed seven paintings (February–August) in my Women of Fragrance Collection, available on my website under Collections → Women of Fragrance.
February – Love | Mary, Mother of Jesus
Mary carried the greatest expression of God’s love—Jesus Christ. Her willing “yes” to God’s plan reminds us that true love is expressed through surrender and obedience
Luke 1:30-33
30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
March – The Word of God | Elizabeth
Elizabeth’s story reminds us that God’s promises never fail. The birth of John the Baptist was part of God’s unfolding plan, preparing the way for Jesus, the Word made flesh.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
April – The Cross | Mary Magdalene
One of Jesus’ most devoted followers, Mary Magdalene witnessed both the cross and the resurrection. Her story reminds us that the cross was not the end—the resurrection changed everything.
Luke 16:6,7
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as He told you.’”
May – Perseverance | Ruth
Through seasons of loss and uncertainty, Ruth remained faithful and steadfast. Her journey teaches us that God brings a harvest in His perfect timing to those who continue sowing seeds of faith
James 1:12
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him”
June – Faith | The Widow of Zarephath
With only a little flour and oil remaining, she chose to trust God. Her story reminds us that faith is not about how much we have, but how willing we are to place what we have in God’s hands.
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
July – Healing & Restoration | The Woman with the Issue of Blood
After twelve years of suffering, one act of faith brought healing and restoration. Her story is a beautiful reminder that Jesus still meets us in our brokenness and brings hope where it seems impossible.
Luke 8:43-48
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: your faith has made you whole; go in peace.
August – Praise and Worship | Miriam
Miriam’s worship was a joyful response to what God had done. With tambourine in hand, she led the women in praise after crossing the Red Sea. The iris is a reminder to pause, lift our eyes from our circumstances, and worship Him simply because He is worthy.
Exodus 15:20,21
Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them:
“Sing to the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
A special note about this collection:
Unfortunately, the Women of Fragrance collection is currently not for sale. This project is still very close to my heart, and I am actively working towards completing all 12 paintings in the series. The collection has been selected for exhibition at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, in April 2027, where all 12 original paintings will be displayed together as a complete body of work. For this reason, the original artworks will remain part of the collection until after the exhibition.
