The widow of Zarephath reminds us that faith is not measured by what we have, but by what we are willing to place in God’s hands.  She had only a handful of flour and a little oil left – enough for one final meal for herself and her son. Yet when the prophet Elijah asked her to trust God’s promise, she acted in faith and gave what little she had. That tiny “seed” of faith became a miracle: the flour and oil did not run out during the famine.

2 Corinthians 5:7

“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
