John 15:4-5. He said, “Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches.
When looking at this painting, the thick wooden part is called the “VINE”, and the thin brown coloured branch is growing from the vine, bearing the grapes. The vine is the source and sustenance of life for the branches, and the branches must abide in the vine to live and bear fruit.
With this painting I am reminded to abide in Christ as He abides in me. He is my source and sustenance of life and through him I can bear much fruit. May we lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him as we bear fruit in every good work. (Col 1:10-11)
