The Protea have adapted to thrive in fire-prone environments. Their seed capsules often require the heat of a fire to open and release their seeds, allowing for NEW GROWTH. What an amazing example of resilience and strength, despite something that might be seen a destructible as a fire! For me, this is a reminder of Isaiah 61:3, which speaks of God giving “beauty for ashes” that has a message of hope and restoration.
Isaiah 61:3 “To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.”
