When I did this painting, I was reminded of our eldest daughter. When she was little, she used to say “OPPILELLA” and stretch out her hands to me or my husband. She did this not only when she was too lazy to walk, but also when she felt inferior or intimidated by someone or something. She firmly believed that if we picked her up, it would make her feel safer or meet her needs.
May this painting remind you to lift up your eyes to our Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, in times of despair, when you desperately need a breakthrough or an answer, or when you feel lonely.
“I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.” Psalm 121:1,2
